It took me over one year to unlock the truth: what I was feeding myself with?
After my arrival in the US, my life changed radically. I passed to a new culture, language, society, mentality and the list is bottomless. The most I love in the world is diversity, so it was very easy to adapt. And yet, later on, after one year since my coming, there was one difficulty I began to struggle with: the food I was eating.
At the beginning I was very careless about my nourishment: I was eating a lot of fast food, microwave-ready meals, and drinking soda every day. I was heedless about my eating style.
It wasn’t long until I slowly awakened to reality.
I gained over 20 pounds and my body just didn’t feel well. I was facing frequent headaches, bloating stomach symptoms, my vision went bad and the most overwhelming, it was that I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy.
After I answered my wake-up calls my life totally changed.
If you feel in the same situation as I was and don’t know how to begin your transformation here is a list with 21 steps I made in my Journey to Wellness to become a better ME.
Make an attempt and bring them slowly in your life, you won’t regret it.
1. Start reading life-changing books regarding health.
2. Begin researching more about what’s in our food.
3. Connect with people, who overcame their health issues, changing their diets.
4. Start reading carefully food labels and avoid the most harmful preservatives.
5. Learn more about GMO products.
6. Try to visit the gym at least twice a week.
7. Stop eating fast food.
8. Avoid any kind of fried food.
9. Do a body cleanse: do not eat meat, eggs, and dairy for a while.
10. Purchase more organic foods and local products.
11. Get rid of bad GMO vegetable oils and replace them with healthier organic ones.
12. Change your white refined sugar for brown coconut sugar.
13. Use pink Himalayan salt instead of white salt.
14. Replace your detergent and dishwasher soap for eco-friendly ones.
15. Switch your deodorant to an aluminum-free one.
16. Buy SLS-, paraben-free toothpaste, hand soap, shampoo, and hair conditioning.
17. Substitute your beauty cosmetics for better choices.
18. Use coconut oil as a moisturizer and makeup remover.
19. Choose glass bottle water instead of plastic ones.
20. Install a water filter on your sink as for when you will wash fruits and vegetables.
21. Join yoga and meditation classes to flush toxic emotions from your body.
And the list can go on and on…
It’s not easy to keep up, but with determination, you will achieve.
Don’t forget that nutrition and movement are crucial for your wellbeing.
There will be so many changes you might notice if you follow the right path. Simply looking in the mirror you wouldn’t believe your physical transformation. And all your friends, who didn’t see you for a while, will be amazed by your new look.
- But the most essential is that your standard of living will improve.
- You’ll raise your self-esteem.
- You’ll become more confident about your body.
- You’ll eliminate your negative toxic emotions and gain positive thoughts.
- And the most important is that you’ll find inner motivation and remain this way.
Don’t let nobody and nothing make you change.
Empower yourself every single day to keep improving and becoming the best version of YOU.
I want to make clear that I was never on diet and I will never be for some reason. Don’t get me wrong diets might be very good in a short period to improve fast certain issues going on in your body. But what happens post-diet? What would you eat again? Won’t you feel lost and go back to your old bad habits?
So, I suggest you find a way of adopting a lifestyle and to follow that path. Once you embrace a healthy journey make it last forever. That’s the best way to become a better YOU.
I ensure you that after you’ll begin changing and see your first lifestyle improvements you won’t be willing to go back to your old bad routines. You’ll wish for uncovering more ways to empower yourself in day-to-day life.
I know you might think it is hard to break on your favorite tasty unhealthy meals. I was also in your spot. But sooner or later you will make that shift when you’ll realize that healthy bodies won’t last forever.
Either because I reveal you my story or because you’ll answer your wake-up calls as I did, you will find a way to rotate to a better YOU.
My advice is: do not wait the moment when you’ll get sick to change. Why not improving your health starting right now?
There is never too late to shift for the better.
Take small steps at a time and Recreate Yourself.
If you’ll never give it a chance you’ll never know what I am talking about.

Hello, just wanted to say, I liked this blog post. It was helpful. Fina Kerwinn Thorman
This winter has been hard on even the unfettered optomistics. You have been through a tremendous amount in the last 3 years taking care of everyone else. Now it is time to take care of Tatum. I happen to think you deserve that. A vacay is the right idea, but also try to do at least one indulgent thing for yourself every day, even if it is small. Remember, even if you are on lockdown, your friends and a relaxing glass of wine are only a skype away! Chanda Lay Worl
